Bush shoulda taken a vacation

Robert "I'll-out-any-CIA-agent-they-tell-me-to" Novak had this to say in his The Washington Post column yesterday:
A prominent Republican who asked me not to use his name said the last effective play by the White House came at the end of the summer when it defended its war policy. Then, in all seriousness, he proposed this course of action should have been taken by Bush: "The president should go on a 2 1/2 -week vacation, and when he gets back, go right into the hospital for minor surgery. In other words, he should have disappeared."
Why stop at 2 1/2 weeks? We say he ought to go on a 2 1/2-year vacation.

But then his handlers would miss him.

Let's take the idea just a bit further and send all politicians in DC on an extended vacation. Hell, they sure haven't done much in the past six years except strip citizen rights and make the corporations richer.
